Price of gas before and after 9/11?----
I can't say if my time line is correct but it was like $1.50 at one point. After 9/11, within 24 hours, at least for a little while, gas prices went up to around $6.50 gal at one point. I know they did in North GA.The war is not "the" reason we have the gas prices that we do today. Why, because consider what gas prices were during the Vietnam War. Between 1965 and 1972, depending what part of the country you purchased it in, gas was only around 12-30 cent a gal depending on the grade of gas you purchased. 89-103 oct. You could purchased racing gasoline in 1972 for only 30 cent a gal. The war today is just used as an excuse to justify anything they want people to believe. The prices that we have today is not because of the war in Iraq. Do you really believe that prices are going to go back under $2 a gal when it's over? They are playing you for a fool if you believe that.Up Date:In the early 1980's, gas prices around Memphis, TN were $1.20 a gal. What did a war have to do with that price? You can't necessary blame the president for the gas prices. In 1998, gas prices in the middle GA area where anywhere between 75 and 99 cents a gal. ABC News at that time reported that somewhere in the NE part of GA that gas prices in one city had prices as low as 66 cent a gal. That half of that was only because of taxes.
SpyderTekDecember 27th, 2001, 02:26 AMAlthough this is funny picture...The truth is quite the opposite..For some reason the price of Gas here in NJ has plumetted since 9/11. It is even as low as $0.85!!
Doesn't make much sense to me seeing how as we are burning up so much oil on war efforts PLUS waging a war quite near oil producing countries...

I cross the border to Indiana to buy gas. ( It's only 7 miles away.)
It's 97 cents there and 1.20 in Chicago
